the countdown has started…
gostopgo is a four week residential challenge, bringing together six artists to discuss, collaborate and create new work. The artists will work together throughout each week to realise a public exhibition of new work each weekend: four weeks, four exhibitions.
Occupying the currently disused Carnkie School at Piece, near Redruth, this high-risk venture will place the artists in a pressurised environment forcing a sharing of ideas through peer-group conversation and, due to the time restriction, a challenge to the more leisurely traditional studio practice. We look forward to discovery and debate, experimentations, investigations, rapid responses and close observations.
The artists, based across the UK, work in a variety of areas including installation, film, drawing and sound, and will each impart their own unique skills and practices to foster a stimulating and inspirational environment.
Visitors will be taken on a journey through the creative process, witness the evolution of ideas and gain insight into the workings of artistic practice.
During the opening hours of 12 – 6pm each Saturday and Sunday, visitors will be able to explore the exhibition. Each Sunday from 12 – 2pm enjoy a late breakfast with the artists, the perfect opportunity to discuss the work and ethos of the show with the artists and organisers over tea and toast. Visitors are also invited to join gostopgo for a drink at the opening and closing celebrations.
