The summer months in Cornwall are busy, and not just for ice cream! Artist-led projects also flourish at this time and any visitors to the county are advised to take note. Cornwall can sometimes seem a poor relation in the contemporary art stakes, particularly with the bustling metropolitan centres of Plymouth, Exeter and Bristol soaking up the attention in the Southwest. Yet the county is providing some convincing evidence that its art activity is worth closer examination, as the successes of last summer’s events (eek, Wheal Art Weekend, InTransit) can testify.

Building on this success, a working group of artists are pooling skills and resources to promote themselves and their activities again this year to establish more.

More will promote a taste of artist-led projects happening across the county throughout the months of June, July and August.
